About the Role
Major accountabilities:
- Partner with business leadership and other key stakeholders to set the US Advanced Analytics technology roadmap, ensuring that individual products work together to create significant business value for the defined customer.
- Hold end-to-end accountability for services and product delivery across US Advanced Analytics & ILab business areas.
- Serve as the point of escalation, review, and approval for key technical issues and decisions.
- Drive and facilitate the approval of US Advanced Analytics & ILab product portfolio investment plans.
- Work on continuous improvement with the cross-functional delivery team.
- Exhibit a strategic product management mindset necessary to establish the US Advanced Analytics & ILab product domain with respective business product owner counterparts.
- Act as a trusted advisor, driving decisions, priorities, and relevant US Advanced Analytics & ILab product information with both business stakeholders and colleagues across DD&IT.
- Proactively share knowledge of US Advanced Analytics & ILab technology risks with the business.
- Ensure coordination across US Advanced Analytics & ILab product roadmaps, oversee timelines and budgets across teams, and ensure that blockages impacting the US ILab product portfolio are removed (coordination and unblocking within a product remains the responsibility of the respective product owner).
- Develop an environment that fosters a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing organization where product management is leveraged to create value for the business.
- Advocate for product management and shape the operating model to ensure business value creation throughout the product life cycle.
- Support the product teams to continually learn and advance the maturity of the teams and the broader organization; solve roadblocks and advocate for product teams.
- Ensure agile ways of working are applied for US Advanced Analytics & ILab product development, delivery, and lifecycle.
- Collaborate with the Architecture & Integration, Data & Analytics management teams to ensure that standard technologies are leveraged for US Advanced Analytics products when appropriate
Key performance indicators:
- Measure the impact of the US Advanced Analytics & ILab product portfolio through business KPIs that demonstrate value creation and strategic alignment.
- Establish yourself as a valued, trusted, and well-respected partner for US Advanced Analytics & ILab technologies, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Collaborate with US teams to enable experimentation with new technologies, driving the development of DnA products that enhance associate experience, improve user adoption, accelerate speed to market, and reduce delivery costs.
- Deliver high-quality machine learning models within agreed-upon timeframes, ensuring they meet their value-based use case objectives and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
Minimum Requirements:
Work Experience:
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Data Science
- Proficiency in machine learning algorithms, neural networks, and deep learning techniques is essential for developing and implementing AI solutions
- Data Science and Analytics: Strong skills in data analysis, statistical modelling, and data visualization to interpret complex datasets and derive actionable insights.
- Expertise in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL for developing AI models and managing large datasets
- Knowledge of NLP techniques to analyse and interpret unstructured data from various commercial data sources.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure Cloud for deploying and scaling AI solutions.
- Strong knowledge of AWS, Databricks, Dataiku, Snowflake, OpenAI, AZURE AI service offerings,
- Strong knowledge of visualization platforms and project life cycle management, including Power BI, AR/VR visualizations, Angular or React Scripting language
- Solid foundation in CRISP analytical life cycle management.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build high-performing teams.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills to oversee AI projects from conception to deployment, ensuring they align with business goals and timelines.
- Innovation and Strategic Thinking: A strategic mindset to identify opportunities for AI-driven innovation and develop long-term plans for integrating AI into commercial operations.
- Understanding of MLOps practices for continuous integration, continuous deployment (CI/CD), and model monitoring.
- Experience with tools for automating machine learning workflows, such as
- MLflow and Kubeflow.
- Strategic mindset to identify opportunities for AI-driven innovation and develop long-term plans
- Ability to align AI initiatives with business goals and drive growth.
- Awareness of ethical considerations and regulatory requirements in AI/ML applications
Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $194,600 and $361,400 per year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/25 through 12/31/25, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
